Important Information

Please see our Experiences for Schools page for descriptions. Only the experiences listed on this page are offered for school groups. Note that there are size limits and age recommendations for all experiences.

School group tours are offered at 10:15 am, 11:15 am, 12:15 pm, 1:15 pm, and 2:15pm daily, except Wednesdays and federal holidays.

Please complete this form at least four weeks in advance to request an experience. If you are unable to submit the form online, print and fax it to 202.312.1930. If your group is planning to visit in less than four weeks, visit the Self-guided Experiences page and complete the request form for self-guided groups.

We will make every effort to accommodate your request. Requests are handled on a first-come, first-served basis and depend on the availability of docents and staff, gallery size, and other factors. Submitting a request form does not guarantee a reservation.

Please indicate any special needs in the "additional information" section of the request form. Subject to availability, we can accommodate requests for tours in some foreign languages (please specify), specially designed tours for visually impaired visitors, and sign-language interpreters.

We will send written confirmation two to three weeks before your experience is scheduled to take place. The confirmation letter will confirm logistical information, including which museum (Freer or Sackler) your group should enter.

A small portion of the Freer and Sackler's vast collection is on view at any given time. We cannot guarantee that a specific object will be on display. To view objects currently in storage, please contact our Collections Management Department.
