Important Information

Please see our reserved tours for schools page for descriptions. Only the tours listed on this page are offered for school groups. Note that there are size limits and age recommendations for all tours.

School group tours are offered at 10:15 am, 11:15 am, 12:15 pm, 1:15 pm, and 2:15pm daily, except Wednesdays and federal holidays.

Please complete this form at least four weeks in advance to request a tour. If your group is planning to visit in less than four weeks, visit the reserved visits for self-guided groups page and complete the request form.

We will make every effort to accommodate your request. Requests are handled on a first-come, first-served basis and depend on the availability of docents and staff, gallery size, and other factors. Submitting a request form does not guarantee a reservation.

Please indicate any special needs in the "additional information" section of the request form. Subject to availability, we can accommodate requests for tours in some foreign languages (please specify), specially designed tours for visually impaired visitors, and sign-language interpreters.

We will email a confirmation two to three weeks before your tour is scheduled to take place. The confirmation email will confirm logistical information.

A small portion of the Freer|Sackler's vast collection is on view at any given time. We cannot guarantee that a specific object will be on display.

The Freer|Sackler is closed for renovation and reinstallation. The popular exhibition Turquoise Mountain: Artists Transforming Afghanistan is still on view in the International Gallery. (Enter through the Ripley Center.) Join us for our reopening celebration on October 14–15, 2017.
