Welcome to Freer|Sackler: Kids and Families!

The Freer|Sackler’s rich collection provides opportunities to learn about Asian cultures through art works and the stories that they tell. We encourage you to visit us with your family to experience the power of art first hand and to see the world from a new perspective. On these pages, you can learn more about our programs including Open Studio drop-in art-making and Family Workshops and Festivals offered throughout the year. You can also view our calendar to see what’s coming up next at the museum, and download suggestions for an art project to make at home. We invite you to come visit us soon on the National Mall, and check out our many resources online. Enjoy exploring and creating!

The Freer|Sackler is closed for renovation and reinstallation. The popular exhibition Turquoise Mountain: Artists Transforming Afghanistan is still on view in the International Gallery. (Enter through the Ripley Center.) Join us for our reopening celebration on October 14–15, 2017.
