Picture your power! View large-scale images of China’s Grand Empress Dowager Cixi (1835–1908) and find out how she used photography to communicate her authority. Join other teachers to explore what makes a portrait powerful. Create a paper or digital self-portrait that projects your own sense of strength and adapt this activity for the classroom.
Light refreshments are provided. Space is limited. Participation is free but registration is required.
