A Gala to celebrate Filthy Lucre, artist Darren Waterston's reimagination of James McNeill Whistler's Peacock Room

On Friday, May 15, 2015, the Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery bring together art lovers, philanthropists, diplomats, and artists for a sumptuous evening to celebrate American art and to benefit the museums' endowment. Guests will enjoy an exclusive preview of Filthy Lucre in the newly renovated north galleries of the Sackler, on view for the first time that evening. After touring Whistler's Peacock Room in the Freer, guests will enjoy dinner in the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium with a performance by the alternative rock band BETTY, who composed and recorded the soundscape for Filthy Lucre.

The evening continues with Flock Together, an after-party hosted by the Silk Road Society, with music by BETTY, dancing, and a dessert bar.
