This symposium explored some of the most exciting recent discoveries uncovered by archaeologists in Saudi Arabia. An international group of distinguished experts introduced their findings, talked about preservation strategies, and discussed objects in Roads of Arabia: Archaeology and History of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, providing context and describing their relationship to cultures that have surrounded Saudi Arabia throughout history.

As renovation work continues in the Freer Gallery, the Sackler Gallery also will close on July 10, 2017.
