Children ages eight to fourteen accompanied by an adult use an activity book to explore an exhibition and create a related art project to take home. No reservations are required for groups of less than eight. Family programs take place on the dates and times listed in the schedule. Programs are held in the classroom on the second level of the Sackler Gallery.
Imaginasia programs are free of charge, but seating is limited. Participation is on a first come, first serve basis.
Groups larger than eight must make reservations for a morning session by calling 202.633.0461. Information: 202.633.1000.

Secrets of the Lotus

Open house for all ages Why do Hindu and Buddhist gods and goddesses stand or sit on lotus flowers? What is the magic power of a thousand-petal golden lotus? Use an activity book to learn these secrets in the Freer galleries. Return to the Moongate reflecting pool in the Haupt Garden to make an origami paper lotus. Write a secret inside of it, and then float it in the pond.
